§ II The Rating

What the rating affirms

The Raydorf Certified Counsel attestation is a personal credential. It is awarded to the lawyer, not the role, and travels with the holder across positions. The rating of AI-Enabled affirms a demonstrated capability in the considered and accountable application of artificial intelligence within professional legal practice: AI tools in regular, governed use across the holder's workload, with disciplined verification of output and proper disclosure where required.

The counsel track assesses five capability dimensions, deliberately tighter than the firm Standard because the unit of evaluation is one practitioner, not an institution. The rating is set at the floor of the weakest dimension. Detailed findings and supporting evidence remain confidential to the counsel and the Institute.

  1. Regulatory Literacy

Working knowledge of the EU AI Act, applicable bar and professional-conduct rules, and the intersections with privilege, confidentiality, and conflict-of-interest analysis.

  2. Tool Discernment & Vendor Diligence

Informed selection of AI tools across the in-house workload, with attention to training-data use, model-update cadence, and data-handling commitments in vendor terms.

  3. Prompt Discipline & Verified Output

Structured prompting, reflexive source-checking, and hallucination-awareness as a working habit — with notes sufficient to reconstruct what AI did on any piece of work product.

  4. Workflow Redesign

Identification of which parts of the in-house workload should be AI-default, and the capability to rebuild a workflow rather than bolting AI onto the old one.

  5. Disclosure, Communication & Practice Measurement

Calibrated explanation of AI involvement to business stakeholders, the executive team, and outside counsel, with the holder's own practice tracked and measured.

Verification

This recognition is published on the Raydorf Registry under register reference RDF-RCC-2026-0001. The Institute will withdraw the entry on expiry, on the holder's request, or on a determination that the basis on which the recognition was issued has been materially impaired.
